Hi, I have just had my second dose of Abraxane, and I got called into hospital as my blood counts were low and ended up in for 5 days with various blood issues.
I also developed Colitis and Ascites, which is water retention around the stomach. So my stomach has ballooned and goes hard after trying to eat. Eating is a challenge and diarrhoea most days. I am having this drained later this week after suffering for 4 weeks.
I am wondering if anyone else has had this reaction? I had 6 sessions of Folfinox a year ago and I managed that ok. But then had a failed Whipple operation 6 months ago.
thank you
lib
Hello Lib (libbeach)
I am Brian, one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan. I have just noticed your post has gone unanswered. I can't answer it myself as I have a different cancer, however by me answering it it will be "bumped up" to the top of the page and I hope seen and answered by other members of the pancreatic group.
i do hope you are feeling better and your condition is improving.
Best wishes - Brian.

Good morning Liblibbeach
Wow - 5 litres - that must be the size of a football, that's some water retention. I am pleased for you that you are feeling much better and hope that you and your team can find a solution to the problem.
Best wishes - Brian.
