My partner has been pre diabetic for a few years. Last August his HBa1c was 40(usually 35 to 40) This February it was 80! Another test 6 days later (part of a separate blood test (not usually this close) showed 67. He has no symptoms at all
His GP has referred him for an urgent Ct scan suspecting Pancreatic Cancer. Does anyone have any experience with raised Hba1c levels.
He had full scans done 3 years ago which were all clear then. Hope someone can help. Thanks
Hello Fellsider
Welcome to Pancreatic cancer forum.
I am sorry to hear that your partner is needing a a CT scan for suspected Pancreatic cancer. It must be a worrying time for you both. I hope that you are recovering ok from your own recent cancer treatment.
There is a link here with some information about HbA1c however it may be an idea to give the Support Line a call and talk to one of the nurses who would be able to give more information.
