Hi,

Has anyone been on Irinotecan on its own?

My husband did Folfirinox and then gem/abax and neither worked.  He has now just started on Irinotecan on its own and I cannot find anyone else going down this route. I am assuming it is palliative?

Thank you

  • Hi

I'm sorry to read that the previous treatments your husband has had haven't worked.

I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi MadelineL

I was on Irinotecan/Fluorouracil some months ago and it kept my cancer "stable" so I was very happy with this no real problems, I have had some scans since finishing treatment and it showed "stable".  I had radiotherapy in January for 5 days, in my lymh node it had shrunk slighly and in my pancreas it was stable - I am very happy with these results not on any more treatment.  I have a scan in June so keeping fingers crossed again, I feel ok in myself too.
