Hi everyone

This is a question for people with PC. Are you struggling with wind through the night? This is a new thing for me. I've slept quite badly this week because of it. To be blunt, I relax and go to sleep but then I fart cos I'm so relaxed and wake myself up. I'm so glad my husband is a deep sleeper.  Is it a Creon dosage issue?

Help!!!!

Thanks

Christine

We’ve upped my husband’s Creon as he was really burpy after eating. He’s basically just on Ensure Plus Advance drinks, with some Pro Cal powder mixed in. About 4-5 Creon seems to make the issue a bit better.

Thanks Coach61. I thought that's what it might have been. I'll up it by 1 and see if that makes a difference.

No problem. He is due to start his chemo on Tuesday. Hope the Creon helps. I have heard of people having to take as many as I8 capsules to get through a meal and digest the food. It must be awful. My husband is really struggling with actual food and can just about tolerate the Ensure.

This is my blog on my/our journey so far. It has been an unpleasant roller coaster.

Oh jeez, you both have fairly been through the ringer lately! I wonder if upping the Creon would help your husband eat more? I'm now going to take 8 before a meal and 6 before a snack. The dietician told me that I will have to increase the dosage as time wears on.

Sending love and hugs to you both

  • Hi Christine, my husband has pc, best thing to do is have the Creon while you're eating, not before. My husband was having trouble with indigestion and was told he was using the Creon incorrectly. So as soon as you pop something in your mouth, take a Creon with water and then use the rest of them before you finish eating. Good luck!

Thanks Jane!  That's what I started doing around a month ago, following my dietician's advice. I'm going to increase the dosage now, hopefully that should help.

    Thanks again
