I have stage 3 inoperable PC, managed 4 of 6 chemo sessions with folfirinox and stopped 7 weeks ago due to complications of chemo. It did shrink the tumour and I have been offered radiotherapy (3 weeks, Monday to Friday 15 sessions) along with 5FU tablets. I still have a lot of fatigue and am a bit worried about the effects of the radiotherapy on what time I have left. Does anyone have experience of this radiotherapy? Any opinions very welcome. I have spoken to the specialist oncology nurse and oncologist but they can only really give the possible side effects and benefits.
Hello Dusty2 I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. My husband had pancreatic cancer but did not receive radiotherapy. I had breast cancer and had 15 sessions as you describe. I found it a little tiring but manageable. Having to attend hospital for three weeks on a daily basis can be quite wearing and I suspect that this causes the tiredness rather than the treatment. I had no other side effects.
I hope all goes well for you.
