Hi, not sure what to write as I can’t really describe how I’m feeling right now. I am 43 and have a 10 year old daughter.
recent diagnosis of 1c2 after emergency surgery to remove ruptured hemoragic cyst on right ovary (histology showed this as granulosa tumour) awaiting surgery then more than likely chemo.
just wanting to speak to anyone who’s been in a similar situation as I feel very anxious right now. I have a wonderful support network in my family and friends which I’m so grateful for.
Hi Kadeya - can imagine you are feeling all sorts of emotions right now. I had a cyst rupture in surgery 1C1 - had 6 rounds of chemo afterwards as a ‘ just in case’ anything got out. Everyone responds differently to chemo but for me I would definitely say the surgery was the hardest part. Chemo left me feeling more tired than usual ( this will be tough with a 10 year old I know) but otherwise largely ok.
Despite having great support from family and friends, I still found having someone to talk to whilst going through it that understood to be really helpful - I was lucky enough to meet a woman on my first round of chemo who I connected with and we have offered mutual support ( she had breast cancer) and I have just joined a local gynaecological cancer support group which has been great!
wishing you well during your chemo ( and obviously afterwards!)
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
