Hi Everyone,
I’m new to this forum. Today as an early birthday present I was told the large mass in my pelvis (previously ignored & thought to be a huge fibroid) was cancerous and has potential spread to peritoneum. I’m devastated and after consulting dr google even more terrified.
On a positive note they plan to try and cut it all out with full hysterectomy and what I imagine debulking surgery. Does anyone else have any experience of this kind of cancer. I’m bouncing between remaining positive and feeling like I’m condemned to death at 45.
Any advice would really be appreciated.
love to you all. ️
Hi Brynhild
I'm sorry to here of your diagnose

I went for the surgical without the chemotherapy thats two years ago now, Don't talk about being condemned to death! Try to remane positive Its amazing what they can do ,
All the best Lv Anya x
I'm much older than you 75 ️ I'm doing well thank you for asking, I'm doing everything I done before the cancer, My surgeon phoned me not to long ago and is pleased with my progress, Once you have cancer you get a CT scan every year Mine was clear last year! done another CT scan last week can take up to 28days before you get your results back, Just have to hope for the best, Though there are people on here have been clear of cancer for 5 10 years or more ,
Keep in touch there are some lovely people on here who will give you advice and support on your progress

Hi, I’m so sorry you find yourself here. I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in January 24 . I remember so well the overwhelming emotions when going through the diagnosis process, the waiting for tests and results it definitely the hardest. If you are searching for information on the internet have a look at charities like target ovarian cancer, Ovacome or Eve appeal . Their information is up to date. I know it’s hard not to think the worst but there are many new treatments for ovarian cancer which definitely improve outcomes. I had full debulking surgery last June, it’s tough but very doable. I’ve made a good recovery, currently I have no evidence of disease, go on holidays and life is good. For now try if you can to stay in the present, I found mindfulness app helped me a lot . For sure there will be a treatment plan for you, and once this is in place it does get easier. Take care and best wishes, you will find strength you never knew you had. X
Hi Brynchild
the diagnosis is a shock, especially when you hear that it has spread to other areas. In May 2023 at the age of 67 I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer and was in the same place as you. Two years on I am typing this as I drink my coffee before going to my Pilates class.
cancer does not immediately mean death, it means treatment and surgery and a recovery process. Please don’t google, especially don’t go into any Facebook or other social media sites about this. Only use factual sites such as MacMillan or Target ovarian cancer which contain reputable well researched information.
while waiting for treatment do embrace all that life has to offer with family and friends and work to improve your fitness, it will help with recovery.
Have to go now! Have a Pilates class to go to
Hi Brynhild
I was in the same position as you last year I'd gone to the doctor thinking I'd pulled a stomach muscle...then Dr felt a lump.. next thing CT scan showing at least two large masses...told I might need some of my bowel removed as well as debulking surgery..marked up for stoma bag position the day before surgery just incase..!as you can imagine I was terrified... But amazingly despite it being cancer and having wrapped itself round my bladder and other parts it hadn't spread!.....I now realise just how ill I had been feeling before the diagnosis so I've actually come through this feeling better...I'd blamed my bladder weakness on getting older not realising my poor bladder and tubes were being squashed by the tumour!!...just reading the forums on here made me realise a cancer diagnosis isn't the end of the world so try to remain positive..x
Hi sweetheart, first advice I was given was to stay off Dr Google but because we are going to do it anyway please google happy stories because there are PLENTY!
I had pretty hardcore surgery and now almost done with chemo. One step at a time please, you are at the worse moment now, the uncertainty, the wait for surgery but you are strong and we are all herefor you

Thank you so much for all the kindness and advice. I have another CT scan on Tuesday to check if it’s spread to my chest. I’m praying no so that my surgery can go ahead and they’re starting me on blood thinners because the mass is pushing on my blood vessels near my legs. Trying my hardest to build up my body with every vitamin possible ️

Hope you are getting through this too, Nxx
