Hi, new to the group.
don’t know where to start, mom had ovarian cancer In 2023. Was removed with the ovaries and then all went wrong and she had to have a kidney removed. Fast forward a year 2024 it’s now come back as secondary cancer, clear cell carcinoma and now spread to her omentum. It’s now terminal and I Just don’t know how to get my head around what’s going on. She’s had 3 chemos and the 4th on Monday was cancelled due to low platelets. She’s now shaved her head as hair was starting to fall out. I saw her a few days ago and she looked grey and so unwell. I felt like maybe this is time that she will really go down hill as also sleeping a lot        Anyone else loved one going through this

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Thank you. I have updated the profile

  • Hi

I’m sorry to read about your mum and appreciate this will be a difficult time for you. You may find it helpful to join one of our other groups in addition to this one, where you will hopefully find some extra support.

  • Such a difficult time for you both.  We all hope that our ovarian cancer won't come back but the reality is that it sometimes does and maybe many of us have faced up to/thought about that before it does come back.  I don't know what to say really except that you aren't alone, and I hope you have a lot of love and support around you.  I think we all would like to send you both a big hug.
