Hello Wave. New on here so thought I would say hola Blush. Finished my chemo mid April and just waiting for blood results before starting on targeted therapy medication. Any one else on Niraparib? Many side effects? Thank you.

  • Hola  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm not a member of this forum but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.

While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi there. I also finished chemo mid April, got NED in my CT scan (hurray!) and started Niraparib one week ago. So far so good. I'd read about all the things that could have happened to me and at this point I'm mostly just feeling tired and with occasional tired headaches. I've got some brain fog too, but I'm not sure if it's these drugs or a hangover from chemo. I have a funny taste in my mouth sometimes, but nothing major and it's nothing at all like the effect chemo had. Anyway I'm relieved to be in generally good shape so far. It's given me the confidence to go back to work on a phased return from next Monday. I hope you've had good news from your blood test by now. Good luck with everything! :)
