I was was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer on 5th May and wanted to share some initial positive experiences in case they help.
1. I created a “I will thrive” playlist which I play on the way to appointments/ Chemo / low times. My family contributed songs and it is a nice small support. I recommend doing this it is a lovely uplift.
2. My head was shaved a week ago after lumps of hair were falling out. I found this loss of hair in clumps so much more distressing than the shaving of my head which was a relief. I use headscarves to accessorise an outfit and am pleased with how I look. We are defined by our personalities more than our hair. Honestly!
3. if you can, before treatment starts, have your eyebrows micro bladed. It is absolutely worth it so that if they also fall out you still have a defined eyebrow. Lipstick and eyebrows make up for the hair loss.
with love and best wishes
