Hello just had the shocking news every parent dreads my daughter has just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer at 31

  • Hi, so sorry to hear your news Frowning2

Your daughter will I’m sure be shocked and scared and have 1000 questions going round in her head without answers, as we all do when we start out on this journey.

In my experience, this gets easier once there’s a treatment plan in place to work through step by step. What also helps massively is to have confidence in the medical team, and to have loved ones around for comfort and support.

I really think it’s almost as hard for our loved ones as it is for us patients - wanting to make everything alright for us, and feeling you have to put on a brave face all the time. You don’t - really !! …. Just being a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on and someone to listen to the crazy thoughts we need to offload is often enough - and if you feel you need to cry, scream, or whatever else it takes to get you through, then that’s ok too.

Wishing you both the very best on your journey,

    Bxx

I hope all goes well with your daughter’s surgery and she makes a speedy recovery….staying as positive and physically strong as she can will help her get through it for sure.
