Hi, I have just joined this group. I have just found out that my oc has come back for the 6th time. Previously my emotions have been fine, but today I feel all over the place. Interested to find out other people's experiences
Hi NanaS and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you just had a recurrence for the 6th time and I can certainly understand why you'd be feeling as you do.
I don't have the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.
While you're waiting for replies it would be great if you could pop something about about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi, I’m in a similar position to you. I have had 5 lines of chemo since my diagnosis in 2016. I can understand how you feel, as the first few times it came back I always knew there would be another treatment to try so went with it. Subsequent recurrences have made me worry more. I don’t know where you are being treated, I am at the Christie and they always seem to find another line of attack! I am always hopeful of a new trial that may be suitable.I have good and bad days and don’t really have anybody to share my feelings with. At best I am trying to make the most of the times that I feel “good”. I would always be happy to talk about treatments that I have had if you would be interested. Best wishes Suzanne
Hi Suzanne, thank you for your reply. I do find it difficult to talk to my husband as I don't want him to worry. My consultant is Professor Charlie Gourley at Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. I have treatment at Borders General Hospital, Melrose.
You are more than welcome to chatbto me when you are having a bad day.
Tina
I understand why you didn’t want to hear that, I wouldn’t. I know everybody is different and also don’t believe any consultant would be able to say how long is left. I am treated at the Christie in Manchester and have never been given a prognosis. I have been told there is always another option to try. Don’t know where you are treated, but have you thought of getting a second opinion from one of the leading cancer treatment centres. My thoughts are with you. Suzanne
I’m treated by Professor Jayson at the Christie, Manchester. I also find it difficult to talk to my partner because he doesn’t really understand and isn’t really very supportive. Thankfully I do have the support of my 3 lovely daughters, but don’t want to worry them because I know they do. Hope you are feeling a bit more positive now. It is reassuring to know there is somebody to talk to on a “bad” day, thank you. Suzanne
I am really surprised that the consultant told you even though you didn't want to know. My consultant (Prof Gourley, in Edinburgh) has told me when I did ask how long I was expected to live, "how long is a piece of string?". Everyone is different even if they have the same ovarian cancer and treatment. And as Suzanne said perhaps you could get a second opinion. Love and hugs, Tina
Wouldn’t like to give you the wrong information. I have just looked at the Christie website, the hospital that I asked to be referred to, and they require a written request from your gp or the hospital that is currently treating you. I remember them telling me that I should go via the nhs and as it would be as quick as paying for a private consultation.
Best wishes Suzanne
I see that this was a month ago but just wondered how you are feeling x
