Hi everyone I'm kate, 52, I recently started HRT a couple of weeks ago and today and yesterday i noticed significant vaginal bleeding, not post coital,, the GP who prescribed it said i might get spotting but this is significantly more than spotting. I have also been feeling very tired, i had my thyroid levels checked because i'm hypothyroid and they were fine, i've had a bit of nagging tummy pain today, my bowel habits do alternate, i'm sure i'm worrying about nothing and the vaginal bleeding is down to starting the HRT, I just wondered if others had experienced similar? i'm going to phone my GP on monday to have a chat and hopefully be reassured. My periods stopped 3 years ago.

thanks for taking the time to read this post. I'm honestly trying not to scare myself but i had a few worrying replies from a facebook group for menopause support which started me probably overthinking!

thanks again :-)

  • Hi . I've just answered your post over in the Womb group. I hope the members here come along soon to chat and offer their experiences.

Thanks for updating your profile  - I see that you've already spoken to your GP today and she's advised you to stop taking the HRT.

We all agree on these groups, don't consult Dr Google  - you'll scare yourself silly with what is outdated information. You can always Ask a Nurse but you may need to wait up to three days for an answer.

Sending you all the best, b xx
