Last year I had one session of chemo before ending up with neutropaenic sepsis and a week in hospital . No more chemo as I had to have gallbladder out.
This year eventually I started chemotherapy on reduced dose with neutrophils booster. Two sessions later I was back in hospital with v low haemoglobin and platelets plus high temperature and appendicitis. Came out last week. Now on tamoxifen.
Has anyone else been prescribed tamoxifen for ovarian cancer?
Lizzie
Hi Lizzie,
Welcome to our group. I noticed that nobody had replied to your question about Tamoxifen. I have taken Tamoxifen for 7 years for Breast Cancer in 2013, and I do remember hearing that they use it to reduce the size of tumors as well as Breast cancer use. I had Taxol / Carbo starting in March this year for stage 3 Ovarian , and on the second session had a reaction to the Taxol and they changed my drug to Docetaxel/carbo, which I tolerated okay. They always have a plan B , even a plan C, so check with your oncology team if you are worried. I have completed my 6 chemos now and am waiting to have a CT scan and surgery. Best of luck to you. Keep us posted with your treatment.
Love and virtual hugs
Janet
