I wonder if you can provide a little help into what your symptoms were when you were diagnosed?

I have been to my GP as for the past 8 weeks I have been continuously bloated with stomach pain and a change in bowel movements. My CA125 was tested and returned at 46. The GP has requested a 2 week pathway for an internal/external scan.

Over the past two years I've struggled with painful/heavy periods and unpleasant discharge (put down to hormones and not infection). My last smear (3 years ago) I also had a biopsy of my cervix and a hysteroscopy, all that came of this was that I had cervical erosion.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I had stomach pains, constipation then an urgent bowel that I had to get to a toilet immediately. Had a colonoscopy. Was reassured it was IBS. When the pain continued I said I could not manage any more. Different GP sent me to see bowel cancer specialist. Got a scan when I saw him and he told me it was ovarian cancer. Went in for de bulking operation but when they opened me up they found that the tumour was sticking to my bowel and bladder so they decided to give me chemotherapy instead in an attempt to shrink the tumours. Tumours shrunk but still had the  same problem, see my introduction to forum under short friend) If you are still having periods you are a lot younger than me so please don't panic. I think it is more common in people my age. I am still going strong on chemo  and feel fine, was diagnosed last December. this is a great forum for support, information and humour. Can I also suggest you try and equally good forum for people with ovarian cancer only. If you log on to health unlocked you will find the OC forum. hope you get good result very soon. Waiting is one of the most stressful things we have to endure! Good luck and please let me know how you get on.

    Kind regards and hugs
