Hi
I am currently 3 cycles through Taxol /Carbo with 3 to go. Do the side effects usually get worse or last longer. This seems to be the case this time round and I am just wondering if this is norma
I’m at the same stage. My third lot has left my joints feeling really sore and I feel queasy a lot still. My 4th lot is on Friday.
I actually found the immediate reaction better, I was less tired and was able to focus more than the previous two.
I’m interested to see what others say. I hope you feel better soon. Xxx
Hi Tania Teapot,
thanks for your reply.Sore joints and queasy are my main problem too but also upset stomach, bad taste, bowels etc etc . Had to get extra anti sickness pills yesterday as still feeling nauseous 6 days after chemo. First two times the nausea only lasted 3 days. Can hardly walk or climb the stairs. I was feeling positive and saying things like ‘ if the good days outnumber the bad days I can do this,’
Hope your next treatment goes well and let me know if the side effects last longer as forewarned is forearmed and I will psych up!
The good days will outweigh the bad! Keep that positive attitude!
I am a sicky person anyway so was feeling queasy for the first week anyway, this time I still feel it but mainly in the morning and late at night. As for climbing the stairs, I feel you! But again the joint pain is mainly first thing, I feel stiff as a board, and last thing where it’s more of a pain in the bone (sounds more dramatic than it is!)
I too have had the joys of bowel troubles, I take a small dose of lactulose each day to help.
How are you with eating? I can eat most of the time but am piling on weight! I’m trying not to worry about it as I’d rather be strong and ‘chunky’ but I’m getting a bit concerned as my clothes no longer fit! I’ve put in a stone! Whether it’s because of the menopause from my op, or the lack of activity but I’m going to be rolling around soon lol!
I’ll let you know how I get on after tomorrow’s dose.
Keep positive, this is all temporary and then things will get better!
love TT xxx
Hi TT
Pain in the leg bones is horrendous I had to take Tramadol the other day . Sometimes take Nurofen in bed as cant sleep with even a little discomfort but the bad pain only lasted a day.
when I am feeling good I cant stop eating but I lost over 2 stone before diagnosis and op so am the opposite of you ,my clothes are too big but it’s quite nice finding things I had given up wearing but now fit.
They tell you to keep walking but that is impossible for this week. Next 2 weeks should be better .
Had to phone the helpline yesterday and got more antisickness pills from the GP as the hospital only give you 3. Feeling better today and not had to take any.
You are so young to have this .I am 70 in a couple of weeks,
Family is such a comfort
