I'm starting chemo next week and have been told that hair loss isn't a possibility, it's a definite. So I'm thinking of pre-empting this with a really short, or buzz cut so that when it does come out it won't be quite so traumatic.
What have you all done? And if you cut your hair in advance, when did you choose to do it?
I'm wondering about cutting it before I even get the first chemo treatment. Is this too soon?
It's just that I thought I may not feel so well and strong to do it after Ive had the chemo.
What do you all think?
Hi, I decided to get my head shaved and don't regret it. It is already growing back in and it is easy to manage. When it was thinning and falling out initially I bought several bandanas and various head scarves, there is a wide choice on the internet if you just look up chemo turbans. Now thinking about my free NHS wig. I didn't do it myself but went to a hairdresser who saw me once the shop was shut and gave my friend a glass of wine while we were waiting! It was traumatic as I had long hair, but I got used to it fairly quickly and now I am starting to like it. .It's not too soon to do it now. Good luck! love Pat x
