Lynparza maintenance drug

Hi,

We have spoken before.  If you want to know more about this drug (Olaparib) Lynparza,

you can have a look on the blogs of Ovacome/ovarian cancer.  There are many ladies on 

there who report on their long term benefits and problems.  I think you are very fortunate 

to have been offered it.  It is not easy to be prescribed as it is a very expensive drug and 

is normally only given to those who have second line treatment.  I also would recommend 

you look for any information from Susana Banerjee at Royal Marsden as she is an expert 

on all trials of this drug.

The oncologist told me how it was used and now they have reviewed it for a different approach, I hope not to suffer any of the side

effects mentioned as a few are a bit grim.

I suppose like any drug there will be pros and cons, though you don't see the worst usually occurring as high as 1 in 100 patients.

Will have another chat with dr on Monday anyway, I doubt I'll be refusing it. Thanks for your reply x
