Hi my 24 yr old daughter was diagnosed yesterday with ovarian cancer ... has anyone been in this situation?
hi
welcome to the online community, sorry you've had to come and find us
I'm from the breast group but I saw your post and had to say hello, my daughter is 25 and we were chatting only yesterday about when she should be checking herself.
Are you able to go along to appointments with her ?
hugs
Carolyn

Hi Kerry94 - I was diagnosed with OC 3 years ago (10/05/2016). It came as quite a shock but I had surgery, chemo and a maintenance drug. So far so good :-) ...
No sign of any cancer since finishing my treatment. It took me quite a while to recover. Surgery and chemo saps your strength! (It was almost a year before I could return to work (gradually) and for the past 6 months I have been able to work full time).
I guess my advice is to try and be positive. Your daughter should take advice from her oncologist and cancer nurse. Talk through any worries with them and they will be able to give sound advice.
Best of luck to your daughter on her "journey" x
Thank you , we were also told on the 10 th of may. I am trying to stay positive and just want the surgery done now . Best of luck to you and thank you for your kind words xx
Hi Kerry94
I've been in that situation too...diagnosed stage 1c ovarian cancer in March after having a routine removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes. I've had my final surgery to remove omentum, uterus and pelvic lymph nodes and cervix.
I feel your worries. All I can say is be positive as this is what helps us beat this awful disease. Also talking to others especially on this forum. The support is exceptional.
Keep poking the doctors/hospital for a date.
Wishing your daughter all the best and stay positive.
E
Xx
Just read your story . Sounds very familiar
and yes it is so devastating especially as she is my baby.
Thank you for your kind words and I wish you well for the future xx
