Conflicted

Hi so I was diagnosed with stage 3C ovarian cancer in July this year at the age of 42 and I had my op 6 weeks ago which was a cytoreductive surgery.

I was cut from the sternum all the way down. I had a full hysterectomy, bowel resection and my left and right side of diaphragm and bladder were shaved off. All the tumour was removed and whilst recovery has been going well the next stage is chemo.

My histology report showed that it was a low grade cancer. From my research low grade cancers are not receptive to chemo and my oncologist confirmed this too, however because I was at stage 3 they are recommending I have chemo done. 6 sessions every 3 weeks of carboplatin and paclitaxel.

Im not sure whether I should do chemo, especially as its being recommended only as a preventative measure and bearing in mind it was a low grade cancer is there even much use. Do I really want to put my body through chemo for a 'just in case there are cancerous cells still remaining'?

Has anyone else found themselves a similar situation or can any advice be given to help me reach a decision.

Thanks all
