How many of us are out here growing a tumour courtesy of this government? I had doctors thag sent me for tests I didn't need and didn't send me fir tests I did need ...like CA125. I was in A N E with pain 1 month before I went private to get my diagnosis. My gp said she had NO CONCERNS after A N E took my bloods. Less than 20 days later a private scan discovered stage 2 Ovarian cancer with a large mass. That was 2 months ago AND I Have had NO treatment. No cancer reducing drug, no biopsy, no plan because I have not seen a consultant. I am in the queue. I won't see one for another week, if that appointment takes place. Anyone  else struggling mentally with this medical neglect. I ve never felt before that doctors are acting UN ethically, but this situation must be compromising so many professional people who see we are being left to progress in our bedrooms and lounges all over the UK.

  • Hi Teema

Welcome to the community and I am sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with stage 2 Ovarian cancer.  I am also sorry to hear that you are having to wait so long for a treatment plan.

Hopefully you'll have your appointment next week.  It might be a good idea to ring the Macmillan helpline on 0808 808 00 00 to talk to someone about how you are feeling.

Wishing you the best of luck with everything.

    Best wishes

  • Hello Teema

I am so sorry to hear of the struggle you have had to get a diagnosis.

When I got told of my cancer, I just wanted it out and I can understand your frustration at having to wait.

I only had to wait for around 3 weeks to get my treatment plan and they did seem like the longest weeks ever. What I will say is that once I did actually see the consultant on a Friday lunchtime, things moved very quickly. I had the pre op tests on the Friday pm and the surgery was done on the following Monday.

I hope that you do get some answers and a treatment plan next week. In the meantime if talking things through would help, then please give the Support Line a call. Your frustration is entirely understandable in these circumstances.

I will pop a link below that may help you to look at before your appointment. Might help to have an idea so you can plan any questions etc you want to ask.

If for any reason the appointment does not go ahead I would advise going straight back to your GP. Mine was able to contact hospital consultant directly and got me booked in for the following day.

    Hope this helps a bit

    Jane
