Anyone had any issues whilst on this drug? I have been taken off it for now as my liver bloods were increasing. In the week I have not been taking it, they have halved. I also had issues sleeping and developed an intense sensitivity to UV light. Both of these symptoms have also gone. I was prescribed it as a maintenance drug following successful chemo and surgery. I was told in June I have no visible cancer.
Hello
I have just started on Niraparib last week. I was diagnosed in Feb 22 with stage 4 ovarian cancer and had 6 rounds of chemo and full hystorectomy. My last CT scan showed no disease. Interested to know when the side effects such as anaemia started to kick in. So far I feel ok -will have my bloods tested this Thursday.. I am taking 200 mg of Niraparib per day.
I started my Monday, BP is a little higher than normal but nothing to worry about. Feel little nauseous in morning but trying not to take sickness pills, it wears off. I also find insomnia but hey ho hopefully it will get better. Trisha101 I am also grateful for being given Niraparib, it can’t possibly make me feel as bad as having the cancer and chemo and all the added extras that come with it, I didn’t have an easy ride.
Best wishes to you all.
I had stage 3 grade 3 ovarian cancer in January and had an op to remove my ovaries, womb and various cancerous clusters around other areas of my abdomen and then had 5 rounds of chemotherapy. I have no visiblecancer left. I am being monitored every three months and if my CA125 goes up they’ll do more checks and potentially more chemo if it shows as a recurrence. Meanwhile I’m getting stronger and feeling much better than at any time this year and am hoping for no recurrence or at least delayed by many years!
Omg! I wish that for you too!!! I am stage 4b, I am in a good place as op and chemo worked but ofered Niraparib to start 7/11, to be honest I am feeling so good at the minute after a brutal year just starting to get back to being me again, even thou still look a bit different, however, my hair is coming in well, I am a little concerned about the side effects of Niraparib as I had alot of bother with bloods while having chemo but I will try it and pray my body accepts it...
Thank you for reply and loads of hugs!
