Ι am 32 years old I was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst (January 2021) and I was told but my gyn to remove it but I didn't have to rush since dermoid cysts are mostly benign. Finally I removed it (August 2021) and unfortunatelly the biopsy showed cancer cells on the cyst. Now I am advised to remove my ovary and tube and send them for biopsy. I hope they are clear. If they are not clear the suggect full hysterectomy and chemo. I am 32 and doctors said it is quite rare incident.
Are there any similar incidents/stories.
I am terrified. I think that my life is in danger. I have two children.
Thank you
Hi,
I'm sorry that you are going through this too. It is very scary and like you I have two children. I had a cyst which led to a full hysterectomy etc. I will be having Chemo soon and probably another op.
I'm sure you probably feel overwhelmed. I know sometimes I just think 'nope too much' but its natural. Listen to the doctors and take advice. Do you have a nurse who you can talk to?
Take care. C x
Thank you for replying. I'm so sorry for your situation. Ι hope you get over it soon. I have my family, my sister helps a lot. How old did you get diagnosed? Was it a dermoid cyst? Are doctors positive in general? I'm sorry for asking so many ... I'm so scared really.
No need to be sorry I understand. I was diagnosed 4 weeks ago and I had absolutely no idea I was ill until I had pain one day. Mine is a rare form and I am still waiting on histology to confirm everything. It's great to hear that you have your family and sister. You will be scared, like you I am too. I worry about so much, but at the moment I am trying to only focus on what I know and not what I think will happen. I can't focus on what has gone (did I miss symptoms? did I work too hard? It doesn't matter its done), I can't focus on what might be because i don't know and I am only guessing. I can focus on what I know now and what the doctors tell me to do.
Of course all of that is easier said than done and I often find myself worrying about the next phone call
I really hope that everything will be finally ok with your situation. Do you have people to rely on?
Hi, I do. I was widowed 4 years ago but I have a good support network.
My eldest moves away to uni in a few weeks and I really want her to go. My youngest is 12.
How old are your children?
I am really sorry for the loss. My son is 6 and my daughter is 4. It's very important to have people around you. I live in Greece and the medical system is not as reliable as in UK.
Oh wow! How long have you lived there?
There Lovely ages
I don't really know alot about the medical system in Greece. X
I am from Greece! So I live here my whole life... We have very good doctors but the public health system is not well organised with serious delays. I am currently visiting doctors from the private sector but I have to search everything on my own and pay for everything, operations, exams etc.
Haha. That makes sense, it must be amazing to live there. However, it must be difficult having to organise your own care. I really hope you get sorted soon.
