Does anyone know how long it takes to get results (I am going privately this week).
Have had severe bloating symptoms getting worse for quite a long time now - so has appt wits private doctor on Friday and he’s marked it urgent which means I am now convincing myself it’s definitely OC...

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community. I have a different type of cancer to you but I see you've joined the right place to get answers and support

I think most people on these forums tend to be NHS patients so I don't know how private referrals work but If you've had a CA125 blood test and it's found to be elevated there would normally be other tests done .i.e Ultrasound, CT scan and biopsies before any diagnosis of cancer is confirmed so at this moment in time don't think the worst. Easy to say, hard to do.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. You can amend or update it at any time.

The Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two to three working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs B xx
