Hi,
I'm in the middle of my treatment and looking at ways to try and prevent relapse, does anyone have any experience or know of any research with Avastin and olaparib to prevent relapse? I have high grade serous carcinoma stage 3c, hopefully removed by surgery and about to start the next three rounds of chemo on Tuesday. I'm researching for once I finish chemo.
Thanks in advance!
Hi I just noticed you've not had a reply to your post as yet. By my answering It'll "bump" your post up to the top of the discussion list. I have a different cancer and have no experience of the treatments you mention so I can't help I'm afraid.
Perhaps if you rephrase the question to "Has anyone had Avastin or Olaparib?" someone might be along to answer your question.
Good luck with the next three rounds of chemo.
Sending hugs, B xx

Hi, I'm interested in your question, but don't yet have any real information that could help you. I have high grade serous stage 4, have had 8 cycles chemo, with successful debulking surgery after cycle 6. I had Avastin along with 4 of the cycles (they didn't give during a few as I was scheduled for surgery - postponed due to covid - and it can hinder blood clotting), I then continued with Avastin as maintenance on a 3 weekly basis, to a total of 18 Avastin cycles which I have just finished. Apparently 18 cycles is the duration that the clinical trials were based on, and these showed some success in delaying recurrence. I haven't really been able to get any more information that than from my oncologist, so now am watching and waiting. They did spot an enlarged lymph node on my end of treatment scan - the question is whether this is recurrence, or something that just never went away, since my last scan was just after surgery last July. Sorry I can't help more than that. Good luck with the continuation of your treatment x
