Granulosa Cell Tumour

I had an emergency full hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo Ooephaectomy at the end pf August due to excessive bleeding post menopause and pre cancerous cells. The contents were sent to histology and I was shockingly diagnosed with a rare cancer, Granulosa Cell Tumour. My consultant rang me to tell me this and that there had already been an MDT meeting and they wanted me to have a blood test and another CT scan to see if it had spread. She messaged me last Wednesday (6 November) to say that she had the results and had sent them to the MDT again for review and decide the next cause of action. She didn't tell me what the results were and just said she would get back to me after their meeting. I am feeling very anxious because she didn't give me any further information or a timescale as to when she would get back to me. I am a private BUPA patient. I don't know whether to contract her again or wait a bit longer as I don't know how ofter they get together to discuss cases.

  • Hi ALL out girl welcome to the forum.       I am so very sorry to hear about all that is happening for you. It's a highly stressful and anxious time for you. That said, you need some reassurance of a date when you could potentially find out the outcome of their discussions,  so I don't think it would be unreasonable to call them and ask. You are no worse off than you are now and may in fact feel better if they can give you dates for this. I hope you don't have too much longer to wait and very best wishes to you for a positive outcome for you.
