Hi, I have just joined the group. I am a 36 year old mother of 2 girls. I was diagnosed at the age of 16 in December 2004 (20 years ago) with ET.
I was under quite a few amazing haematologists, how my last one died during Covid in 2020 and I haven’t seen anyone at all since.
I recently suffered a miscarriage in January and feel like our family is not complete therefore would like to try for another baby however I actually can’t remember what I need to do in terms of my illness. Should I be taking anything additional to normal people trying for a baby.
p.S don’t take anything at all since 2017 since my first born child as platelets haven’t been anywhere near as high, either within normal range OR 50-100 over normal range.
I hope all of this makes sense.
Thanks.
Hi Tatman16, sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I have a blood cancer too and it's incurable. I was diagnosed back in March 2015 and I currently have 3 treatments a week, every week.
I really think you should contact your GP to get a referral to see a haematologist and if you don't have a GP then get one quickly. Failing that call the MacMillan help line. Their number is 0808 808 00 00.
Good luck
