Hi I have suspected lymphoma my chest lymphs in the Hillar and medeistal regions are very enlarged . I had endoscopic bronchial ultrasound scan and biopsy yesterday . I'm very Sore now ,I hear the drs saying how chunky one of my lymphs was and I think they took two biopsy out that one and maybe one other lymph lower down . It done now , sorry if I posted on wrong forum and if anyone has similar problems I'd love to hear your experiences. Its a scary journey if you don't talk about it to others . Thankyou for taking the time to read my post .

  • Waiting for test results is the worst.  There are dozens of different types of lymphoma so it can take a little bit of time to get an accurate diagnosis, but it's important they get it right so they can offer the best possible treatment.

Have you already been referred to a haematologist or are they waiting until they have the biopsy results?

I've been in remission from NHL for three years now following chemotherapy in 2020.

  • Hi lollie ,I'm under a heamatologist and a respiratory consultant too. It's a very anxious time .they have done some tests to see if I'd be ok to have chemo as my health is poor anyway . I don't know the results of these tests yet . It's just waiting on biopsy results now .it's taken some time to get to this point but like you say it's important they get things right . If you don't mind me asking where were your lymphs swollen? Mine are in the chest I can feel them like a pressure feeling sometimes .I've been feeling really rough for months .thankyou for sharing your story with me and please add me as friend on here .

  • Accepted your friend request.

My swollen lymph nodes were on my neck.  It started on one side and just got worse and more painful, eventually spreading to my tonsils and the other side.

Imaging showed that I had a tumour in my sinus cavity which took up about a quarter of my face.  It deformed my face and gave me double vision.  Ironically, it was presumed to be a different type of cancer.  A consultant was telling me how it was really bad up until the biopsy results came through during the appointment.

  • Hi   and a second welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare type of incurable but treatable Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 so I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

As my friend  says it can take time to go through the Diagnosis process of Lymphoma, but this time has to be taken as there are over 60 types and sub-types of Lymphoma and not one treatment fits all types.

I had none of the Common symptoms of lymphoma apart from a little rash on my back and even although my consultant was 99% sure as to the type of NHL I had it took a full year and 6 biopsies to find the truth.........  but that was over 24 years back and I am still here doing great........ Lymphoma on the whole is very treatable.

Clear information is important so this link Questions to ask your medical team about Lymphoma will help you get a notebook of your top questions ready for your next appointment.

We are always around to help more or just to chat ((hugs))
