Hello,
I have not posted on this site before but have read and followed posts by others which have seemed to help.
I am on cycle 3 of (hopefully 6) R-CHOP chemo and am also having 3 lumbar punctures for Follicular NHL in the spine and behind the nose.
I was wondering if anyone else has had NHL around the nasal area as I keep getting strange tingling sensations in the nose which are more annoying now than anything. I mentioned this to the consultant who said she had not heard of this before, but did suggest it may be the chemo working?
I do get a lot of tingling in the head which I assume is where my hair is falling out
Any thoughts?
Hi Adrian
I had this too!! Sympathies on the lumbar punctures I remember them well. I had Follicular NHL in the stomach, bones and roof of mouth that went through the sinus area and up to the optic nerve. I had the tingling you describe and also ear-ache. I put it down to the fight going on in that area. I asked what happened to the area left when the tumour had gone. They said it would all fall back into place :) but with the ear-ache they said the pressures in that area could have been affected.
After 3 RCHOP the tumour in my mouth and stomach had reduced by 70% and after a further 3 RCHOPS the one in my mouth has gone and also in my bones (the lumbar punctures worked). I have 1 - 2% remaining in my stomach but that's it. Hang on in there. Take Care San x
Thank you San
Your comments are a big help. Have scan next month so will see what's happening.
All the best
Adrian
Could the tingling in your nose be due to the nasal hairs coming out?
I found my head more comfortable when I kept it shaved short-ish - could give that a go, if you're comfortable doing so and haven't already? Also means you can rub in moisturising cream, which may help with itches.
Hi Adrian,
I hope you don’t mind me hijacking this and messaging but I think I’m similar to you - Nhfl, lump on roof of mouth and my sinus/nose area is blocked, starting off with months of ear infections. I’ve been waiting months for results and a pet scan which is now due in 10 days but I’m petrified. Any insight/experience would be appreciated. Thanks x
