Just a quick update on progress. Having been diagnosed with Diffuse B cell lymphoma Grade 1E in the Autumn I have now had 3 cycles of RCHOP and had a final cycle of RCEOP on Thursday. Recent PET scan is showing good progress but still some residual disease in my bowel one lymph node involved in now clear. Next in plan is to zap residual cells with a course of radio therapy. I have tolerated chemo fairly well. My biggest problem was cancer tissue damage causing a fistula, I will spare details but it's been tricky to manage but a lot better and manageable now. Whether I need a operation to help this heal is possible in the cards.
It's been a rollercoaster, but professional staff have been brilliant especially the practice nurse at GP when I had a meltdown with a constantly leaking fistula and no clue how to cope with it. That was definitely my worst moment.
I would also add that the information on the Macmillan site has been a lifeline in helping me through this and when I am better I intend to fo one of their hikes
