Hi everyone, still having problems with the site even though some fixes have been made so until its working properly I won't be trying to log in for a couple of weeks in the hope more fixes are in the pipeline, it really worries me that people who may be needing help and support are having a similarly frustrating experience. Really hope they get it fixed quickly as its one of the better sites for support these days.
Seems no lessons have been learnt from previous experiences in 2009 and 2010 when many users left the site or were lost due to the glitches then, lets hope everyone makes it back
John
Hi John, my wife was on holiday just when the new site was launched so I was off line, but I have not had any real problems getting in and navigating most areas. This is coming from someone who took a year to figure out how to change the time on our new car lol.
Yes, I still have to insert login details from time to time (before the new site I was doing this every time) and yes there are a few things that need to be looked at and the traffic will always go down during these types of upgrades but things will improve I'am sure.... being the optimist I am.
I use a MacBook and iPhone and I have to say that the site is more navigatable on the phone now, but its early days.
I do hope you are keeping well in these strange times.
Mike
Hi Mike, like many until the fix was done this week I could login but not post and now I am having to login to post in a group so it just seems not to be user friendly and my biggest frustration which I have shared twice now with the team is their failure to keep people updated and advise that the were issues and they were looking to fix it, unless you emailed them and received a bland reply.
My worry is for those seeking help and not being able to access it, Moomy and I experienced this in 2009/10 when they merged 2 sites and did a major upgrade, they lost lots of users as it was a nightmare and some never managed to log back in due to the problems. Last time I was lucky and had no problems as I was part of a team of volunteers that test the site before it went live.
Like you I hope it gets sorted and things settle down and gets back to being a supportive site, guess I will just have to get used to the login issues
take care and stay well
Hi John, yes it’s frustrating but the team are indeed working hard to overcome the issues.
The old site was crashing more and more so something had to be done and regardless how much new site testing is done it was inevitable there would be issues..... tell that to our Scottish Education Minister
Lets look for us to be looking back in a few months and seeing it continuing to be the supportive place it’s always been.
Take care John.
