Hi
I was diagnosed early this year with follicular lymphoma. I had an MRI scan done couple of weeks ago.
Today I went for my usual consultation as I'm on a watch and wait. I have stage 3 follicular cancer in my arm pits and groin and just been told I also have adrenal adenoma in my adrenal gland.
Is this similar to the follicular but just in a separate gland and is it common. I don't know if the two go hand in hand or I'm just unlucky.
I was told today that I need to see a separate consultant.
It's hard enough getting my head around watch and wait without this extra dilemma.
Hi my understanding is they are benign to and depending on the size this may inform what happens next and the only other thing I found is that most are inactive but some become active and will need treatment.
a quick search and this seems the best I could find to help explain for you

so when you see the consultant you can go informed to have your list of questions hope this helps

Thanks joncal
Still trying to get my head around it. Hard enough to be told you have follicular lymphoma but then told you have adrenal adenoma as well. I didn't know if they are both non Hodgkin's cancers.
Maybe they will do a biopsy but if it is usually benign then obviously I have nothing to worry about. Less sleepless nights yehhhh.
Hi Ruth
i know exactly how your are feeling! Last November I was given the news that I had follicular lymphoma, kidney cancer and possibly breast cancer all at the same time! My head went into overdrive and I imagined myself to be living on borrowed time. I didn’t know which cancer to worry about the most! Almost a year later I am still here and very well. My kidney along with it’s tumour was removed in January and there was no spread and the lymphoma is stable so I’m on watch and wait. That’s been heard to get my head around but now I can go days without thinking about the fact that I had and still have cancer.
Ruth the adenoma is not a type of NHL so in that sense the 2 are not linked, sometimes due to the nature of the checks other issues are found you may never have known about, a spinal stenosis and kidney stones were 2 of the gifts scans gave me.
