Hi,I was diagnosed with WM a few months ago. I have been put onto the watch and wait programme. However I have started to feel far more tired,

and am experiencing quite a lot of cramp and painful feet at night.  Does anyone else have this?

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

I don’t have Waldenström’s macroglobulinaemia but I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 so although my Lymphoma ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

Let's look for some of the group members to pick up on your post. You can also look through the various posts (hit the main group name and scroll down) and as always you can hit reply and ask some questions and see if the member is looking in.

You can also do a site word search so do put in Waldenström’s Macroglobulinaemia or WM into the Search Tool Mag near the top, hit ‘Anywhere’ and this will bring up the older posts and again hot reply to see if the members are still using the site

I was basically on Active Monitoring (Watch and Wait)  for 14 years before big gun treatment was required. It is actually hard in the early days to distinguish between normal 'life' stuff and what could be Common symptoms of lymphoma developing so I always recommend you call your clinical team/Cancer Nurse Specialist and talk this through with them.

But from my long experience, having cramp and pain in my feet at night, especially during hot weather was a sign that I was not drinking enough water and was slightly dehydrated.

Always around to help more or just to chat
