Finally have my date

Finally!!! Wishing you all the very best and an uneventful surgery and recovery. Will be thinking of you. 
I also have my MRI scan report. They will be doing MDT tomorrow and to see me Friday to discuss plans. 

I havent been told the results of my mri. I wish you all the best with your results and way forward. X

Lanreotide was started Thursday. I had unpleasant side effects from it but it’s getting better.

Hello! Feel so exhausted! Got cough and cold from my son. 
im on 2 week fast track for my surgery. Had my pre assessment yesterday and enhance recovery nurse review on the 21st. 
colorectal review next week. 
It’s all happening now. Feel so scared of the surgery. 
how are you? Been thinking of ux just been so busy at work as starting to handover and hoping to take time off before the surgery

Im glad its all over. As far as i know the surgery went as planned. Had my drain stitches out yesterday. Ive been in quite a bit of pain. Its the nerve pain that i find hard, as its quite sharp pains. Its unbelievable the amount of tablets im on at the moment. I have my post op appointment 22nd october, so will find out more then. 

Try not to panic about the surgery, you wont know anything about it, then you can start to move on from this horrible time x

If it’s nerve type of pain, ask your drs for specific pain killer for it, like pregabalin or gabapentin. U need to be comfortable. 
I have mixed messages for the oncologist saying that he is agreeing with the complex surgery but suggesting a less invasive approach like MR linac- radiotherapy but it has no evidence based study that it will work. I would rather have the big surgery to get it all out than to try something else which has not grantee to treat the cancer.

I have asked for a second opinion from a colorectal cancer specialist from St Marks in London. I have an appointment at 11am so will see what he will suggest. 

I just wish we live close by and meet up. It’s just so special to know someone who understand how it feels to be in this horrible situation. Xxx 

Thanks for that. Im on gabapentin, and my gp has upped the dose for me. 

I think i would push for the surgery, unless they can be certain the other treatment will be as effective. Its not really fair on you, they are the experts and should decide whats best for you. Hang on in there! Always here if need to chat! X
