Hi all, I’m new to this forum. I was diagnosed in July 2024 with NET tumours in my lungs and later in the year found another in my pancreas. I have had good medical support and two weeks ago had treatment on the tumour on my left long and will be having the same treatment on my right lung within the next month. I’m struggling a little with processing everything as I’m trying to be positive and thankful that things seem to be manageable but I suppose I have a bit of “what if” cloud over me as to whether the tumours can come back or appear elsewhere as they have already been found in two different areas. Also my work isn’t that great in terms of having time off, not my immediate manager but the organisation itself, so this is also an unnecessary stress. For reference I had radio frequency ablation on the first tumour. Any thoughts or advice on how to deal with this diagnosis would be greatly appreciated, thank you

  • Hi

Welcome to our community I hope you find in informative and supportive.

I am Steve one of our community champions and my experience of cancer is via my wife who has Leiomyosarcoma, a different cancer but hers is also mostly in her lungs.

Having a rarer cancer can be difficult, getting any form or reliable statistics of anything so I know how easy it is to fall in to the what if's.

You mention potential issues with work, it might be helpful to you to look at the information here and perhaps post on Ask a Work Support Adviser or ring the helpline.

    <<hugs>>
