Hi, has anyone suffered from any stomach pain as soon as the Capecitabine hits their stomach? I am 5 years since diagnosis so in a very different place to where I was in 2018 when I gad the same chemo tablets. The Temozolomide makes me sick but I don't know if there is any solution to the stomach irritation as it'll be a long 6 months otherwise!
Hi Liza5
I'm sorry to read that you're getting stomach pain after you take Capecitabine.
I don't have any experience with this drug but it does say in this information on common side effects that
"You may get pain or discomfort in your abdomen (tummy), feel bloated or have indigestion or wind. Your doctor can give you drugs to help improve these symptoms. If the pain does not improve or if it gets worse, tell your doctor or nurse."
You should have a 24-hour contact number for the hospital if you need to speak to them about side effects and hopefully they'll be able to give you something to counteract the stomach pain you're getting.

I am currently taking this pill - in Phase 4 of 6 phases. Also taking chemo infusions plus nausea pills. I find that when I get stomach problem, like sandpaper rubbing, hard to describe the feeling, I take pain pills prescribed by my doctor. Some good days and bad days but overall progress is good!! I am 78 years old.
