I was disgnoeed sed with NET . In small bowel, mesentery & pancreas in 2017. I had surgery to remove 2 in October 17. The pancreas has been under annual surveillance. My last scan 3 weeks ago has revealed the pancreas. Is stable, no spread to the liver however it is in lymph nodes in my stomach, I have to have a PET 68 scan but My local hospital have suspended them due to Covid.
I am therefore going to London, UCHL. The earliest appointment is 18th March but I have got to keep in touch for any cancellations. This scan could also reveal other spread. Please could anybody give me any information, whether you have experienced this etc. Also I have to start treatment by monthly injections? I am awaiting a letter I cannot remember the name of them.
Thanking you in anticipation
Hi
I'm sorry to read that you've recently discovered that your cancer has spread to your lymph nodes and I know what a worrying time this must be for you.
I don't have the experience you're after but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies yet. I typed 'lymph nodes' into the search bar in the group and it brought up these previous posts. You could have a read through them and respond to any of the more recent posters if you think they might be able to help you further.
Wishing you all the best
Hi Kenny,
I have just been diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumour of the para aorta lymph nodes. I had a net removed from my small bowel in 2010 along with 11 lymph nodes. I too am starting on monthly injections shortly. I am awaiting for the injections to be delivered to my home then a nurse will be coming to do the injecting. I am going on Lanreotide.
Hi kenny53
i had a PET 68 scan about a month ago. In Sydney Street in Chelsea. Very good very easy. They found 5 very small tumours spread around as well as the one I knew about in the ileum. I had emergency surgery inJuly to remove a large one in the ileum that had blocked it all up.
I started Lanreotide inj this week. The next day my BP fell out the bottom and I was 999 to A&E. They did nothing but monitor me till I came back to normal. I feel fine today. Will get better as the course continues.
It’s great that advanced on NETS are so good in recent years
Good luck with yours
