Hello and welcome to somewhere we never want to be...
I too have a Lung NET primary with Liver Mets. You can read my profile if it help.
I can only give you my experience...The surgeon will have all your records and may well have been part of the MDT that discussed your case prior to the decision being made to operate.
Pre assessment is where you are seen by a Senior Nurse who will go through everything with you, will examine you, take bloods, organise Lung function tests, possible see Physio. So it’s a very busy session and once everything is completed you will see the Surgeon who explains in detail what the operation involves and the risks.
As actual hospital stay, I had a couple of button up nightdresses, any type as long as they are loose it’s just easier and hopefully the drain is only in a day or two. Your up walking about as soon as you can, so nothing too short....I got a couple of Sloggie type bras which I found comfortable to wear, large size as they were supportive but didn’t get into those till I came home.
Write down all your questions and take them with you as well as family or friends who can help you remember what it was you wanted to ask!!
Best wishes and let me know if I can help further
Thank you so much that’s really helpful. I am very scared and it’s so good to know there’s someone out there who’s been through it!!
