Good morning everyone

I lost height due to the MM and after diagnosis was referred to a back specialist, who I saw as well as starting the Chemotherapy. Followed by an SCT and now in Remission and on Lenalidomide.

The back specialist said no further treatment needed.

I do get very stiff though, during the day especially, when I have been sitting. I walk as much as possible.

Can anyone tell me, if you were/are in a similar situation, do you do any kind of physio. Or given any exercises recommended from the hospital.

I will obviously, ask before I start, doing anything further.

Thank you

Jayne

  • HI  again,   i have a weak hip  due to the MM,      i was feeling strong,   and  dog walking,  so i started light jogs,  buillding up the  length,     i told with  some joy of this to the consultant,  he sad STOP!   JOGGING,   GO SWIMMING,  so i did, and do,      its  not as easy at it was,  but    for  24 hours plus after i feel  great,    still walk the dog,      45 minutes or so,  and  use the NHS  step  counter,  but    yes get advice,    and   lead into it slowly,       best wishes for a continued good recovery     Kevin

  • Thank you Kevin

We’ve got a dog, but she is almost 18, so not much walking these days, unfortunately. Just for toilet breaks.

i’ll mention it next time I speak to the consultant and see what she recommends.

Good luck to you too, it does help sharing experiences.

  • I’m in a similar situation to you I think.  I have restarted cycling Though not as far

I walk a lot and I started (with permission from my team) to use an outdoor gym.
I used to do pilates But I’m still a bit unsure about going into groups because of chance of infection.

  • Thank you Jo100

Yes, I agree regarding the infection but you have given me some ideas and I’ll mention to my team.
