Hi,
I find myself back on a forum again, I joined the Breast cancer forum early last year and then a routine blood test in October came back with a shocking result.
I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in Dec 2022, I have 6 more weekly injections to come of DVTD, had number 10 today. Side effects very minimal, and manageable.
I have an appointment in the UWH mid April to discuss stem cell transplant so have found reading everyone's comments very interesting. It has given me some idea's as what questions to ask. I'm hoping my appointment will give me some time scale of when harvest and transplant will likely take place.
Hi NellyP and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am sorry to see you having to find this group now.
I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups. I don’t have Myeloma but I do appreciate the challenges of the journey rather well especially with regards to Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) as I have had 2 Allo (donor) SCTs.
I see that you have actually joined our dedicated Stem cell transplant support group. Do have a look through the group and do consider putting up a post as you will connect with folks from different blood cancers who have navigated the SCT journey ((hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
