Hi,

sorry about the posting time, steroid night so wide awake! Diagnosed

with myeloma during lockdown (eventually) started treatment 4 months

ago only getting a partial response which is disappointing. I’m 54

married with 4 grown up children. Although there is so many different

treatments available I still feel the future is so uncertain, trying to keep

a brave face for family but it’s reassuring to know I’m not alone

Best wishes to you all

  • Hi , I'm so sorry you find yourself awake during the early hours . I have experience of this as well .The only think I can say by way of reassuring you is that when the steroids stopped for me I slipped right back into my normal sleep pattern . So hope that you find a line of treatment that works for you . Life becomes an unexpected roller coaster doesn't it ? Going from treatment to waiting for blood test results .

I started treatment beginning of September 22 and on Monday start the primer for the stem cell  harvest .

Hope you find your way through this . My children are all adults now and at first I didn't involve them much in the day to day trials of Myeloma for fear of how they would be and didn't want to upset them  When I did let them in they have all been so supportive wish I had done it sooner .

Wishing you all the best .
