Wave I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in March this year, I’ve undergone 16 weeks of chemotherapy, stem cells have been harvested now waiting for the stem cell transplant hopefully in the beginning of November. I’m suffering constant mid back pain, especially when sitting (my hobby is card making) I wondered if anyone could recommend a chair or support cushions to help me to sit longer than a hour or so.

  • Hi and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups.

I don’t have Myeloma but I was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a so although my Blood Cancer ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well....... especially Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) as I have had 2 Allo (donour) Stem Transplants in June 2014 then Oct 2015 and it has done the job for me.

SCT is a rather unique roller coaster so it would help you to connect in with others who have been through the process. With this in mnd can I recommend you join and post in our dedicated Stem cell transplant support group.

As for chair and support cushion recommendations I have no experience in this but you may want to post your question in our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.

I will keep an eye open for you in the group.
