Just joined today, I started treatment in August after the discovery of a fractured spine in June ( I was originally diagnosed with a kidney infection…I wish!) I am totally reliant on family and friends to take me to my twice weekly treatment and anywhere else I need to be, I live alone so it’s hard when nobody is here I can’t drive and have poor mobility, some days better than others but what I would give to just be able to jump in my car and take myself off shopping or for a coffee!!!
I hope that day comes around soon, I am becoming more emotional and for someone as positive as me this is not good, I lost my mum last October to lymphoma she fought that bad boy off for 20 years I wish she was here I miss her.
mug anyone has the time to chat please do so thank you in advance xx
Hi Notgivingup and a warm welcome to this corner of the Community although I am sorry to see you joining us and hear about the journey you are on.
I am Mike and I help out around our various Blood Cancer groups. I don’t have Myeloma but I was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Lymphoma (Stage 4a) so although my Blood Cancer ‘type’ is different I do appreciate some of the challenges of this journey well but not the specific treatments you may be on.
It does sound as though you are having a hard time and let’s look for better days to come for you soon.
Sorry to hear about your mum, I lost my mum just coming up to two years back, the saying goes that time heals and I think it does.
Let's look for some of the group members to pick up on your post. There actually have been a few new members join recently so why not click on the Myeloma Group title and this will bring up all the posts. Have a look at them and as always you can hit reply to any post and see if the member is still using the community.
