My brother has been diagnosed today. Apparantly it's advanced.
He is starting chemo next week.
Just really looking for some positivity as we've recently lost our Dad to mesothelioma.
Thanks in advance
Hi PollyJack,
I am so sorry to read about your brother, this news must have come as a massive shock at what it already a very unsettling time.
In terms of hope, one thing that I can offer you is that the staging doesn’t really matter in myeloma like it can do in other cancers. What is much more important is how a patient responds to treatment, and there is lots of evidence out there of newly diagnosed patients responding really well to all the new treatments that have come out in the last few years. Let’s hope the same can happen for your brother. There’s lots of evidence to say that it can.
Sending you loads of love and please keep us updated with how he is getting on, and whether you have any questions along the way, I’m hoping you’ll find a lot of good support here.
Greg
