hello everyone
i remember how I received so much help and support following my husbands diagnosis of multiple myeloma early in 2018. He did so well on the treatment but has been left with peripheral neuropathy and a few other niggly issues but otherwise he’s done really well.
We always knew it would come back so should have been more prepared for yesterday news that it’s back and so we begin the journey again. I somehow thought that I’d know when it was back because I thought he’d be poorly yet apart from some new back pain - which our doctor has dismissed as a muscle strain - he seemed so well.
But onwards and upwards we will go and I’m sure there are others out there following the same path. I send you all my best wishes and will no doubt be on the site again looking for help and guidance.
June
Hi June,
I am so so sorry to read your update. I had not seen you around the site for a bit and I was surmising all was going well, so I’m really sorry to read that Gordon has relapsed. What have they said to you about what’s next? I’m sorry, I can’t really offer any real guidance in the relapse setting, but I just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you and hope you can have a good path forward to knock the myeloma back down again.
Greg
Hi Greg
thank you for your welcome back. You were always a support.
He's done so well and even when we went to clinic on Monday we were expecting nothing but good news so we’re utterly floored by the news his Paraproteins had gone from zero to 27 between checks. The consultants are discussing him in their weekly meeting tomorrow and our assigned nurse will call me with an update and a date next week for us to discuss going forward and start treatment. He’s also having a CT scan. Some of the drugs will be tweaked to try and avoid further peripheral neuropathy damage. We will remain as upbeat as possible and are so grateful to have had a wonderful summer at home with our little dog and visiting great niece and nephews - we have had so much fun with the children this year. I do hope you are doing well Greg and thank you again for your kind words.
