Hi
My mum had an auto stem cell transplant last November. Her latest results show her paraprotein level has jumped from 4 to 10 in the last 8 weeks and she is devastated. Should we start to be worried that it’s so high. All other readings, kidney function etc are fine.
Hi Van,
Welcome to this corner of the forum, although I am incredibly sorry to read the update about your Mum. I have light chain myeloma so I have never had a particularly high paraprotein so I don’t know what would constitute a relapse. I know paraproteins can fluctuate naturally though but I’m unsure at what level there would be cause for concern. What has your Mum’s medical team said? I think they often look for trends rather than one reading as there sometimes can be blips.
Sending you loads of love at this time.
Greg
