Hello everyone, I have today been diagnosed with stage 2melanoma from a mole on my back (shoulder blade area) my initial surgery has removed it with clear margins which must mean something good right?… I will be having WLE & SLNB the next 3 months. I’m a theatre nurse so surgery doesn’t bother me as such, the waiting for results is what’s making me very anxious. I feel it’s going to be a long 3/4 months prepping and waiting.
I am also a mother with 2 young babies, I’m so scared when I think of the worst!
I am praying for clear results on the next lot of, then 5 years under dermatology for checks. Not sure what I’m asking really, maybe someone here in the same boat or has come out the other end with positive news?
is it possible for this to be over soon and nothing else will come of it …
thanks all…
Yes total relief that there’s now clearer margins. I won’t get my appointment to discuss findings for 6 weeks so in my head I’m telling myself it’s fine and I’ll be cancer free now. X
Great to have that over, a long time for results but I think you're right to stay positive
I was diagnosed a year ago and told I would have to wait a further 6 months so went private in Aberdeen on 29 November. I had 10 stitches and it looks good now just a small scar. But I am dreading my return on 20 Jan for the lab result. Such a long wait. I was told it was a basal cell carcinoma but now melanoma
