Hi there. I have this booked in for next Friday - will probably have the WAE wound with graft due to it being on shoulder joint, groin wound (skin graft) and maybe one or two lymph access wounds (neck and armpit). So I am wondering how sore/tired I will feel afterwards? Interested to know if you were up and at it next day or needed to sleep for a few days? Very grateful to have it booked in at all so want to make sure I do everything possible to aid healing while trying to lead a normal life.
Hi JerryD,
I had my WLE on my knee and SLNB on my groin area yesterday morning at 8.30 under general anastasia. Team was lovely and professional. When I woke up, I felt sick and very drowsy for an hour while was in the recovery suit. Nurse gave me few sips of tea and crackers and escorted me to the loo. I was discharged at 1 o'clock and after I got home, I had a toast and tea and fall asleep for 4 hours straight. So I can say, operation day I was sleeping and felt bit tired the whole day.
Today I am back to my normal self with slight headache and no pain in the operation area at all. Was told to keep my leg elevated and not move around too much in the first week.
Hope this helps and good luck on Friday.
