  • Hello , it sounds like you had some lymph nodes removed and this was adjuvant treatment to mop up any stray cells. Until a few years ago when this adjuvant treatment started, people were on just watch and wait hoping that they didn’t need any further treatment and some people don’t but of course the drs don’t know which people do. If it does start up again there is further treatment for you but it’s always disappointing when you have to change treatment until you are able to get into a new mindset.

I have had Dabrafenib back in 2015 for melanoma in my lymph nodes that couldn’t have surgery. After 8 months I needed to change onto Pembrolizumab. I am about to have my last Pembrolizumab and will have the tablets Dabrafenib and Tramatenib after some surgery in October. I can imagine you may feel a bit in limbo, as at times that’s how I’ve felt when a blip occurs. I’m not in the same position as you as I know my melanoma is in several lymph nodes still but my team have a plan, so I’m mostly positive at the moment with the odd waiver about hoping to stay well enough for treatment to be successful.

You don’t say how you feel, and at times I haven’t know how I feel or the feeling is fluid. Sometimes it just helps to talk it out or put pen to paper as it were. I noticed on another post on here people were recommending headspace as an app to help them cope. My husband had that as a free app on his phone, we have Netflix and they have some sessions on there if you do a search, the visuals / animation helped me as I’m not always good at relaxing, my go to relaxation is usually a walk. It’s good to have a tool bow of different ways to cope with the uncertainty I’ve found.

    Take care KT
