A quick brief, I had a mole grow a blood blister looking thing on it on my upper inside arm, I had a WLE 5th March this staged me at 1b, with a depth of 1.7mm,  I had a surgery yesterday to remove more skin and test my lymph nodes in my upper chest and neck, it found one in my armpit, so when I went under for my skin removal the aim was to remove the lymph node, well when I woke up they told me they could not get it, because I was so dopey I didn't ask any questions.

I have an appointment in 4 weeks to discuss the process. But I am wanting to know what I should expect.? Will my stage change now it's in my last node?. also do I get a full body map done?, is there anything I should be asking my consultant. Thank you Hel.

  • Hi Hel,

Lymph node involvement moves your disease to stage 3 so at your appointment ask about your staging, and the ipi/nivo combo and testing for BRAF status. You can read about these treatments and staging at https://www.macmillan.org.uk/cancer-information-and-support/melanoma. I find it helps to write my questions down in preparation for my appointments. Also, this forum is great for seeking information on how to live with melanoma and the uncertainties this diagnosis brings. Wishing you the best outcomes, Cindy
